Second-to-youngest surviving son of Johann Sebastian Bach and father of Wilhelm Friedrich Ernst, Johann Christoph Friedrich became court chamber musician at Bückeburg in the same year as his father's death. Known as the "Bückeburg" Bach, Johann Christoph Friedrich composed oratorios, symphonies, cantatas, keyboard works, songs, and concertos. Johann Christoph Friedrich perpetuated a venerable name among the Bach's. Johann Sebastian's elder brother, uncle, and second cousin all shared the name Johann Christoph. |
