| Hassler was a rare phenomenon in the history of late 16th centiry Protestant music: his training as a Kantor was not academic, unlike that of so many great figures of his days. - MIDI FILE - From "Missa secunda": Sanctus et benedictus (1'51'') His native town Nuremberg characterized him as "Musicus inter Germanos sua aetate summus", an epitaph that he fully merits. |
