He is supposed to have been pupil of Porpora, and he emigrated (from Naples) to London about 1746. His greatest success in England was as a singing teacher and harpsichord master. Towards the end of his life he returned to Italy. |
The Paradisi's musical style is natural and fluent but of limited breadth of expression. MIDI FILE - Toccata for harpsichord (2'40'') The 12 Sonatas for harpsichord, by which Paradisi is best remembered, were singled out for praise by W.A. Mozart, M. Clementi and Cramer. |
