| Heinrich Sutermeister b.Feuerthalen, canton of Schaffhausen 12.8.1910 d. Morges, canton of Waadt 16.3.1995. The bulk of Sutermeister's output consists of stage works, indebted to the example of Orff in their simplicity and directness, yet also displaying a personal dramatic formula in their attention to Italian theatrical models.Concertos and chamber music complement the operatic achievement. Sutermeister's choral pieces are enduringly popular.
