Viktor Ullmann Life


Viktor Ullmann Studied with Schoenberg in Vienna and Hába in Prague, where he lived until in 1942 he was interne as a Jew at Terezin.

There he composed a 1-act opera, Der Kaiser von Atlantis.

In 1944 he was transferred to Auschwitz, where he is presumed to have been killed.

A former pupil of Schoenberg and a collegue of Zemlinsky in Prague, was the dominant musical figure at the nazist camp of Terezin where for two years he organized cultural life there.
