Don Banks

| Don Banks, b. South Melbourne 25.10.1923, d. Sydney 5.9.1980 One of the first Australian composers thoroughly to absorb the serial method, Banks made his home in England, but maintained strong Antipodean links in his music. The son of a jazz musician, he wrote with equal facility for voices and instruments, amateurs and professionals, and composed prolifically for the cinema.
