Woldemar Bargiel Life

Woldemar Bargiel was the son of Marianne Tromlitz, first wife of Friedrich Wieck and mother of Clara Schumann and was taught by Moscheles and Niels W. Gade in Leipzig, before returning to his native Berlin, where he was later appointed professor of composition at the invitation of Joachim.

His music is influenced by Schumann, who regarded him as one of the leading composers of the younger generation.
