| Among the composers who have exerted particular influence on Bentzon one could mention Stravinsky, Bartók, Schönberg, Hindemith and Carl Nielsen.His output has had an experimental character and has been influenced by being a practical part of the contemporary debate. Bentzon's opus list comprises about 560 numbered works, and he is one of Denmark's most active and prolific composers today.
