Azio Corghi Life

The Italian composer Azio Corghi is among leading contemporary composers in his native country.

His remarkable Anabaptist opera Divara - Wasser und Blut, a collaboration with the Portuguese writer José Saramago, was commissioned for the 1200th anniversary of the city of Münster.

It deals, in a vivid style, with the Anabaptist experiments in collectivism in that city in the 1530s and the disastrous consequences.
