Friedrich Daniel Kuhlau

German-born composer and pianist who later assumed Danish citizenship, Friedrich Kuhlau is chiefly known for his piano music. - MIDI FILE - Piano Sonatina (complete) op.55 n.1 (4'02'') - MIDI FILE - Sonatina op.20 no.1 (7'25'') He also wrote extensively for the flute, although he did not play the instrument. His chamber music without flute includes three piano quartets, in the musical idiom of the period. In 1811 he performed his own Piano Concerto to great acclaim and, in 1813, he became a court musician.
