Domenico Paradisi Life


He is supposed to have been pupil of Porpora, and he emigrated (from Naples) to London about 1746.

His greatest success in England was as a singing teacher and harpsichord master.

Towards the end of his life he returned to Italy.

The Paradisi's musical style is natural and fluent but of limited breadth of expression.

The 12 Sonatas for harpsichord, by which Paradisi is best remembered, were singled out for praise by W.A. Mozart, M. Clementi and Cramer.
