| Bernart de Ventadorn (Ventadorn, ? c. 1130-40 - ? Dordogne, c. 1190-1200) was a troubadour poet and composer . A servant of the Viscount of Ventadorn then of the Duchess of Normandy, Eleanor of Aquitaine and of Raimon V, Count of Toulouse, he later entered a monastery in Dordogne. 18 of the 45 poems attributed to him survive with complete melodies - more than of any other 12th-century poet. Through working in northern France, he may well have played a leading part in stimulating the trouvère tradition there.
