Mattia Vento Life

Vento – a student at the Conservatorio di S. Maria di Loreto in Neaples – achieved his first operatic success in Italy.

Vento went to England, where he was active as composer and harpsichord teacher until his death.

In the 1775-76 season, during wich Vento was listed as a director at the King’s Theatre, he produced both comic and serious operas.

Another side to Vento’s London activity is shown in his 11 collection of keyboard sonatas, most with subordinate violin accompaniments.
