Born Withersnea, England, UK, 1 March 1921, influential and highly accomplished English trumpeter and flugelhorn exponent, Baker embraces most jazz styles and is known primarily as a brilliant melodist and fluent mainstram improviser.

He has worked in numerous bands, including those of Lew Stone, George Chisholm and Ted Heath and, indeed, led his own - Kenny baker's Dozen.

He also works extensively for radio and television and is a much admired composer and arranger.
